Finding Lessons (and more importantly Applying them)

The lesson for me this week is from an Q&A session by Emma Vieceli  (check out http://www.emmavieceli.com/about/ ) from her The Emma Vieceli Residency on the Warren Ellis Whitechapel Message Board   http://freakangels.com/whitechapel/comments.php?DiscussionID=7631&page=1#Item_0

The lesson is about PATIENCE.  This is something I've always struggled with and as Emma puts it
"I know in myself that I can technically apply myself to anything, any of us can, often what holds us back is our patience, and mine is awful. I get frustrated if I spend too long on one thing. I need to teach myself to spend longer on things XD XD"
It seems like simple advice, but it really rang true for me.  Looking back it probably is the single biggest thing that has stopped me progressing.  So I took that advice and ran with it (or should that be walked slowly?), anyway, this is what I ended up with.
I know it's a rubbish scan, but I had to squeeze my bound A3 sketch book into my A4 scanner and then stitch the two scans together but I think you'll get the idea and I will be trying to get a better scan to put up here..

Until next time

My first post of the new decade! I guess I should start the year with something bigger than a few sketches.. so here it is.

Ahhh, a bunny.

I'm still learning this "digital art" thing, but I like it. Let's see what happens.

Gums

I was thinking about this today. One of my earliest... no, actually my very first memory of drawing, is lying down in my Nan's lounge tracing over a Gums comic strip by Robert T. Nixon. After that I think it was a constant battle to get my Nan to give up all of her grease proof paper so I could create (trace) great art!!!!
