An Illustrated Life

So, I got "An Illustrated Life" by Danny Gregory for Christmas. As the cover says, it's all about "drawing inspiration from the private sketchbooks of artists, illustrators and designers". It's really, really good and I would recommend it (in fact follow the link)

So any way, I was inspired... I've stated a daily sketchbook. It's a pocket size Moleskin (I know, I know) that I have had for ages but was too scared to draw in. This is a little sample...

Gums

I was thinking about this today. One of my earliest... no, actually my very first memory of drawing, is lying down in my Nan's lounge tracing over a Gums comic strip by Robert T. Nixon. After that I think it was a constant battle to get my Nan to give up all of her grease proof paper so I could create (trace) great art!!!!
